Good morning Metis class, I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas break and have stayed safe. Unfortunately we can't be back learning together as normal so until it is safe I would like you to complete the work set in your home learning journey and remember to use your best presentation.
Let's start off the day with our favourite Gonoodle. Get your family involved and show off your amazing dance moves.
Read the phonics story below 3 times. Can you find all the words that have the ai sound in them? Remember all the ways to spell the ai sound: ai , ay , a_e, ea
Can you write a list of all the words you have found with the ai, ay, a_e, ea sound in your books.
Teach your grown ups how to play our favourite phonics game at school: https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/2/picnic-on-pluto
In your packs you will find a sheet with lots of spellings on. Please can you read as many spellings out loud as you can. Choose a line of spellings (5 spellings) and write them in your books.
Look at the picture below:
In your home learning book can you write 3 sentences about what the children are doing in the snow? Remember to use capital letters and full stops.
Challenge: Can you include an adjective in your sentence? For example: The girl is putting soft gloves on the tall snowman.
(For grown ups: Let your child sound out and write the words themselves rather than writing it for them)
Follow the link below to our handwriting scheme - Choose the animation for the letter f
Practice with your finger the letter formation. Then write the letter as many times as you can fit across a line in your book.
Please go on numbots for 15 minutes- you will find your log in stuck in your home learning book.
Practice counting in 1’s to 100.
Practice counting in 10’s to 100.
Practice counting in 5’s to 100.
Practice counting in 2’s to 30.
Write your numbers 1-20 in your book.
In your pack you will find a blank number line that starts with 0 and ends with 20 - can you fill in the blank numbers and then use the number line to help you answer these questions. Write the number sentences and answers in your home learning book.
Read a book from your book bag, or from home if you prefer. Can you tell your grown up who the main character is?
Can you find some objects in your house that are primary colours?
Remember, primary colours are red, blue and yellow.
Draw a picture of all the objects you have found (at least 2 of each primary colour) in your home learning book. If you have paint at home can you paint the objects the correct colour. If not, use colouring pencils or whatever you have at home.
Please get a grown up to send pictures of you completing your home learning to our email address : firstname.lastname@example.org so I can see all of your hard work! Miss Broadhead and Mrs Barrett will miss you lots but we look forward to seeing how far you have come with your learning when we get back. Keep going Metis class we have got this!
