Good Morning Callisto Class

Make sure you have signed the register and said hello!

Today is a special day of learning as we taking part in the first-ever Wiltshire Virtual School Games -  an exciting programme of sports competitions and activities which will run from June 1st until a celebration event on July 8th.

  • The games are open to anyone in Wiltshire in KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5+.
  • One or two new activities will be released every week. There will be a video demonstration and written instructions.
  • Each activity will have at least 2 challenges. You can attempt all the challenges or just one or two.
  • There will be winners for each separate challenge. Film your activity and send it in to be in with a chance of winning.
  • All activities can be carried out at home or at school.
  • Special Spirit of the Games Awards will be given to those who have to think creatively to be able to complete the activity.
  • There will be a prize for the school with the most participation across all activities.

It is always a good idea to warm up before you so a sporting or physical activity.  Get on some comfortable clothes and join Caroline the Dance Lady with a special dance warm up just for the Wiltshire Virtual School Games!

This week the challenges are from the sport of athletics. You can do either of the challenges or both and you can have as many tries as you would like. If you would like to try to win a prize, you can send in a video for the jumping activity here and the run/throw activity here.

Choose one of the games above. Do the activity five times and record your scores. Can you think of a good way to present this information? How would you draw a graph to show your scores?

Write a set of instructions for one of the games above.
