Good morning Callisto Class

This is our last day of Home Learning before almost everyone returns to school in our new Year 5 bubble.  Remember to show you have visited our page by signing the daily register and let me know if anything is concerning you about returning tomorrow.

Take you pick from today's Bingo Board - just follow the link and get going.

Fluent in Five - how quickly can you complete the following calculations?

What is the 4 digit number shown?
Add 5,467.
Subtract 3, 858.
Multiply by 5.
divide by 4.

Today we will be comparing decimals so that we can put a series of mass measurements in order.  Look at how our friends have used different strategies to order the amounts.  Can you explain why Hannah's statement is wrong?  In your Home Learning Journal try ordering the masses.  When you are ready complete worksheet 6 on pages 11 and 12 of your workbook - the answers are at the bottom of our page.

Today we are going to warm up for our writing task by playing a sentence starter game.

In addition to ...
The most extraordinary thing about ...
It is a little known fact ...
Normally ...
You may not know but ...
Surprisingly ...

yes Using the sentences starters above complete at least 5 sentences using invented facts about your chosen subject.

Catch up with us in school by reading the next chapter of Edge of Extinction - it is quite a long but exciting chapter so read it carefully and be ready to summarise what has happened.

How many of our vocabulary words can you put in a sentence? You have 5 minutes to write as many sentences as you can.

Last week we were exploring the life cycle of different animals.  This week I would like you to explore the human lifestyle in a little more detail.

Follow the link below to the BBC bitesize website where you will find - a video to watch, an interactive ordering task and a mini quiz to complete.

When you have watched the video and ordered the pictures create a life cycle diagram in your Home Learning Journal using pictures words and arrows.  Write your quiz answer down too.

Using the details in your Home Learning Pack log in to Yumu to find our new unit 'Reflect, Rewind and Replay'.  Select assignments and try some of the activities in Step Four.

Use the register or the class email if you need a reminder of your log in details.
