Maths

  • Can you practise saying numbers in order? Start with number 14 and see how far you can go!
  • Choose one of the containers that we have been experimenting with water - 
  1. Can you find a container which holds more water than your one? 
  2. Can you find a container which holds less water than your one?
  3. Is there a container that holds the same amount of water as yours?

Which holds the most / least water?

Writing

  • Ask a grown up to flash all the letter cards and get you to say the sounds as you see them. 
  • Ask a grown up to flash all the high frequency word cards and get you to say the word you see.

 

  • Talk to your grown up about our new topic ‘Water’.  What do you know about water? Where does it come from? What does it look like? How does it feel? What can you do with it?
  • Can you write some facts about water?  Maybe try and join your sentences using the word ‘and’ or ‘because’.

Remember to write down the sounds that you can hear in a word – try not to copy words that your grown up has written… use your brain, say the word slowly out loud and listen for each of the sounds in the word and write those down.  Read your writing out loud when you have finished to check that it makes sense!

Daily Challenge

  • We have to be very careful around water, such as by a pond, paddling pool, swimming pool or river.  Talk to your grown up about why we need to be safe and how we can make sure we stay safe while having fun.
  • Can you draw a poster to help your friends and family stay safe?
