Wednesday 20th May

A fox meets all the woodland creatures that live near him today and a song about an owl.

The Makaton sign today is 'owl'

Practice your phonics cards. Can you write all the sounds we have learnt so far in sand, or flour? Say the sounds as you write them.

Can you draw a tree in your book and put five little owls sitting in your tree? You can use your thumb print for  the owls. Can you write the number five?

Listen to the wonderful story 'The owl babies.'

Communication and language

Talk about what you can see in the picture. Encourage the use of words such as he/ she and action words ending in ing. When you have talked about the picture you can then read the sentence. Some of the pictures I have used might inspire your children to want to ask questions and find out more.

Let’s get creative:

Use a sponge or rag and see if you can make three fluffy owl babies from the Owl babies story.
