Wednesday 13th May

Let's go exploring under the water today. I wonder what we will find? A phonics game and a song about a slippery fish.

Today's Makaton sign is 'octopus'

Can you make a these words with your letter cards? Listen to the sound at the beginning of the word and see if you can hear and find it.  m a t, s a t, p a t.

How many V's can you write on one page in your book?

Money: Investigating coins. Can you make rubbings of the coins you have. What can you see on the coins? Can you spot any numbers?

Find your name card in your pack. Say the sounds in your name. Have a go at writing the sounds in your name. Some of you will be able to have a go at your surname.

Communication and language

Talk about what you can see in the picture. Encourage the use of words such as he/ she and action words ending in ing. When you have talked about the picture you can then read the sentence. Some of the pictures I have used might inspire your children to want to ask questions and find out more.

Let’s get creative:

Can you paint, draw or collage an Octopus. Make sure you add the right amount of tentacles.
