Maths

Today we are going to continue with doubling numbers.  Remember that doubling is when we add the same number to itself.  For example if you have 5 objects we would add another 5 objects to it.  The answer for double 5 is 10….or we would write this in a number sentence as 5+5=10

Have a look at the pirate doubling activity below and see if you can find the doubles.

Writing

  • Ask a grown up to flash all the letter cards and get you to say the sounds as you see them.
  • Ask a grown up to flash all the high frequency word cards and get you to say the word you see

  • Look at the image below and play a game of I spy – for example, I spy with my little eye something beginning with… s… yes it is the sun! Keep playing the game until you have spied all the pictures!
  • Next choose one of the pictures to write a sentence about – which one will you choose? Can you make your sentence more interesting by describing the object as well?

Daily Challenge

Can you make a boat?

Find things from your recycling box. It could be an old butter container, bottle or plastic tray.  Try and find materials that are waterproof as we will be testing it out on water tomorrow when it is dry!

Have fun making - and remember to send us in your photos so we can share your learning on our class web page!
