Today we will be continuing with our learning about Roman Numerals.  Begin by trying to write today's short date in Roman numerals - 10.06.2020.

Take a look at the Let's Learn slides to see how to write years in Roman numerals.  When you are ready answer the Guided Practice questions in your Home Learning Journal.  Once you have finished have a go at the worksheets on pages 182 and 183 of your workbook - as always the answers are at the bottom of the page.

English

When writing narratives authors often use dialogue (speech) between characters to advance the action of their stories.  Remind yourself of the rules for punctuating dialogue by looking at the card below:

Now rewrite the sentences below and add the missing dialogue punctuation.

Reading

Read the final part of Chapter 12 of our class book.  When you have finished write a list of item you think Sky and Shawn will need to get from the trading post to continue their journey.

If you have been in class and have read past chapter 12 then try this activity instead.

Sky kept a detailed journal recording everything she knew about dinosaurs.  During her adventures topside and through her conversations with Todd and Jett she realised some of her information was wrong.  Create a page from her journal after researching a dinosaur of your choice.  You should draw a picture of your chosen dinosaur and record at least 5 facts about it too.
