Tuesday 5th May

We are in the jungle again today. Can you help me shoo the naughty monkeys off my bed? What other animals will we find today?

Today's Makaton sign is 'monkey'

Re-cap in the sounds we have learnt so far. Last week's sound was f.

Play the eye spy game. What could you hear?

Can you get five teddies and sing...

5 little teddies jumping on the bed

One fell off and bumped his head,

Mummy called the Doctor and the Doctor said,

"No more teddies jumping on the bed!"

Can you take one away each time?

Listen to the story ‘There’s a rumble in the jungle’

Which animal did you like best?

Communication and language

Talk about what you can see in the picture. Encourage the use of words such as he/ she and action words ending in ing. When you have talked about the picture you can then read the sentence. Some of the pictures I have used might inspire your children to want to ask questions and find out more.

Let's get physical:

Make a bridge that you can roll a ball under. You could use a chair, a small table or boxes? Play with someone in your family. Stand either side of the bridge and shout ‘over’ or ‘under’. If they shout ‘under’ you should roll the ball under the bridge. If they shout ‘over’ you can throw the ball over the bridge to them. How fast can you do it? Can you catch them out?
