Tuesday 19th

Spellings:

In your packs you will find a sheet with lots of spellings on. Please can you read as many spellings out loud as you can. Choose a line of spellings (5 spellings) and write them in your books.

English:

In Bob’s diary entry he uses lots of different time words such as ‘First, Next, As soon as, After that and Finally’ we call these words ‘time adverbials’.

Time adverbials help to tell us when something happened, this could be ‘at 2 o’clock’ or ‘First I picked up my toothbrush’.

Task: Can you put these sentences which all have a time adverbials in the correct order.

You could write these out on a piece of paper and cut them up - or you could just write them in the correct order in your home learning journey - whichever you prefer.

Finally I checked that everyone had left the moon and I travelled home.

Next I met my friends for lunch.

As soon as I got to the moon I started to clean the rubbish left by the astronauts.

First I changed into my special man on the moon suit and travelled in my new rocket ship to the moon.

After that I entertained the tourists on the spaceships. I love doing the somersaults, handstands and high moon jumps.

Challenge: Can you add another sentence to Bob’s diary with something else he might have done? Start it with the time connective ‘Then I …

(For grown ups: Let your child sound out and write the words themselves rather than writing it for them)
