Good morning Luna Class!

Keep up with your reading and remember you can change your books at school.

Can you read this sentence? Remember some are two letters and one sound.

We are all  in the hut for lunch.

Alphablocks - sh and ch

Watch the Alphablocks clip above all about the sounds sh and ch.

Have a go at writing them in your book.

The list has been started for you. Can you remember any of the sh and ch words?

You might need to watch it again.

What does Pip mean when he says " A chunk of gold"?

Remember that this week we are learning about doubling.  Doubling is when we add the same number to itself.  For example if you have 3 objects we would add another 3 objects to it.  The answer for double 3 is 6….or we would write this in a number sentence as 3+3=6

Have a look at the sheet below.  Today we would like you to double the number of dots on the dominos. First, count how many dots there are, then draw the same number onto the other side of the domino and add them together.

If you have a set of dominos at home - why not have a game with your family! See how many doubles you can find!

  • Choose 6 different letter cards and say the sounds as you see them. Now practise forming these letters – try writing them in different colours. How many perfectly formed letters can you fit on one line?
  • Ask a grown up to flash all the high frequency word cards and get you to say the word you see.
  • Look at the words below – can you write a sentence using one or more of the high frequency words?
  • Remember to say your sentence out loud first – then say the words slowly and listen for the sounds in the word and write those down.
  • Once you have written your sentences – read them out loud to your grown up.

Daily Challenge

  • Have a look through your research from yesterday - remind yourself of which boat was your favourite.
  • Today we would like you to draw your favourite boat and label all the different parts.
  • When you are drawing - look very closely at all the details and colours and try and match these in your picture.
  • Please email us your finished pictures so we can add them to our Luna gallery on the web page!
