A sentence is a complete thought. A fragment is incomplete.


Here are some examples.

Activity One: turn fragments into sentences

Activity Four: rewrite a paragraph

  • Read the paragraph below.
  • It has two fragments. Can you find them?
  • Rewrite the paragraph in your Home Learning Journal so there are no fragments.


Lions live together in groups. They work together. To hunt their prey. Lions mostly live on grasslands. In Africa. They hunt giraffes, antelopes and zebras.



This week, people all around the country are celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day. VE Day - or 'Victory in Europe Day' - marks the day towards the end of World War Two (WW2) when fighting came to an end.
