Today we will be exploring Lesson 3 of reading and writing decimal numbers. Take a look at the Let's Learn slides and try the Guided Practice questions in your Home Learning Journal. When you are ready complete worksheet 3 on pages 5 and 6 of your workbook. The answers can be found at the bottom of the page.
Today I would like you to practice some grammar techniques that will help you next week when you will be writing about your newly discovered animal.
Our focus in today's lesson will be on using brackets which are used to add extra information within a sentence without interrupting the flow of the writing. Begin by reading the following information slide

Take a look at today's word and pick two activities to try:
Choose an activity to practice the spelling of this week's homophones:
Write the words in alphabetical order.
Use the opposite hand you write with, to write each word.
Write the vowel blue and the consonants red.
Look up the word in a dictionary - what word comes before it in the dictionary?
Write the word and draw a picture to represent it.
Backwards to Forwards
Write each words backwards and then write it forwards.
Research the life cycle of either a mammal, bird, amphibian, reptile - make notes on what you find out. Scientists show the stages of a life cycle in a circular diagram - see the example below. Can you show the stages of an animals life cycle by creating one to show the life cycle of your chosen type of animal?
