Good morning Luna Class!

PE- Can you be a pirate? How many piece of treasure can you pick up without falling over?

The next page of the book Pip gets rich.

What does the word 'yank' mean?

Can you think of another word you would use instead?

Can you use object from around the house to make the sh and ch sound. What other letters can you make?

Can you listen and then say all the sounds we have learnt.

  • Today we are going to continue with doubling numbers using the sheet below.
  • Count how many numicon there are - Use your fingers to help you, hold the right amount of fingers up on one hand and then hold up the same amount on the other hand to double it and find the answer.

  • Choose 6 different letter cards and say the sounds as you see them. Now practise forming these letters – try writing them in different colours. How many perfectly formed letters can you fit on one line?
  • Ask a grown up to flash all the high frequency word cards and get you to say the word you see.

  • Like we did on Tuesday, look at the words below – can you write a sentence using one or more of the high frequency words?
  • Remember to say your sentence out loud first – then say the words slowly and listen for the sounds in the word and write those down.
  • Once you have written your sentences – read them out loud to your grown up. You can draw a picture to go with them if you like!

Daily Challenge

What brilliant boats you have all made! Today we are going to test them  in water to find out if your boat floats or sinks?

Put it into water and see what happens!  Talk to your grown up about what has happened...

Did it float? Why do you think it floats? What materials did you choose for your boat that have helped it to float?

Did it sink? Why do you think it has sunk? What might be causing it to sink? What can you change to make it float?
