Hi,
I hope you have had a lovely weekend. You will find this week that some of the activities are similar to last weeks. Our children need to practice their skills lots of times to embed them and use them independently. There will always be a phonics, maths, reading/ writing task as well as a language and communication task. In addition to this I have tried to vary the other activities to include physical development, music and art. I hope you enjoy the activities this week.
Sign to accompany the video today is sheep.
Phonics
Look at your phonics cards. Say the sounds you can see.
Sound focus this week: b
What will Geraldine Giraffe find this week?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztsfsOl9l9Q
Can you find things around your house beginning with b? Take a picture of all the things that you found and email a picture or stick it in your book.
Have a go at writing a big b in your book.
Maths
Hunt for red objects in your house. How many did you find?
Hunt for blue objects. How many did you find?
Which group has more things? The red group or the blue group? How do you know?
Can you record what you found out in your book?
English
Use your toys to tell a story. Can you tell your story to your family? Your child might need support to tell a story. Who is in the story?
Where did they go?
What did they do?
Who did they meet?
What happened to them?
Communication and language
Talk about what you can see in the picture. Encourage the use of words such as he/ she and action words ending in ing. When you have talked about the picture you can then read the sentence. Some of you will be able to read the sentence. Some of you will just be spying sounds that we have learnt.
Let's get creative!
Can you make your handprint with paint or pencils. What can you turn your handprint into?
I have added an idea below.
