Good Morning Titan Class!

Assembly 1st February 2021

Start with 15 minutes on TTrockstars.

Fluent in 5:

Look at the clocks below, what time do they say?

These are analogue clocks:

      9 o'clock                                quarter past 9                     half past 9                             quarter to 10

These are the same times, but as a digital time:

Talk to someone at home about what you notice with the analogue and digital clocks. Are there any similarities, any differences?

Today's lesson:

Understanding that clocks have more than one scale

In this lesson you will learn that there are two measuring scales on a clock. You will need a pencil and paper for this lesson. Click on the link below and follow the lesson:

Use this handy tool to help you with time vocabulary:

Suffixes are letters that can be added to the end of words to change their meaning.

  • Adding the suffix -ation, turns a verb into a noun. For example, 'inform' becomes 'information'.
  • If the word ends with 'ne', 've' or 're', drop the 'e' then add -ation. 'Prepare' becomes 'preparation'.

Work your way down the list of words taking two each day, writing each word three times and then writing a sentence for each word. Ask someone in your house to help test you.
