Good Morning Oberon Class Welcome to the beginning of Week 5 learning.


I hope you have all have a restful weekend and are ready to go with today's learning tasks.   This week we will be looking a dividing decimal numbers in maths, writing to inform in English and we will be beginning a new topic on evolution.  You will see links to our live classes on the maths and English page - we hope this will enable more of you to join us each day.  You will still need to ask your parents for the pass code to enter each meeting.


There is a new Times Tables rockstar battle starting today - can we make it 3 victories in a row as we take on Ganymede Class?


Remember that independent reading should be happening 4 times a week so I have added a link to GetEpic so you have a wide variety of books to choose from.


Make sure you have singed the daily register - use the comments section or the class email to let me know if you need any help and we will do everything we can to support you with your learning.

Today is our first lesson on decimal division.  If you don't have number discs at home you can always draw the counter for the tasks - just make sure you label them with care.

Writing to Inform



Use the following slides to read the next chapter of our class book 'The Explorer' by Katherine Rundell.  The chapter title is 'Abacaxi' - this is a very unusual word so what do you think the chapter will be about?


When you have finished reading the chapter try drawing a picture of 'Abacaxi' and label it with information from the text.

In today's lesson we will be going over some of the classroom vocabulary we have been learning in our previous sessions.  What can you remember.  There is also a listening task and a writing tasks all in French - How exciting!
