Good morning Luna Class!

Make sure you click on the video from all the staff at school.

Can you spot Mrs Solomons, Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Marszal?

Reading and phonics

Please remember to share your reading book with an adult every day.

Can you read this sentence?

I said put the on lunch on the box !

We are starting a new book this week called cash book.

What is cash?

What do you think is on Mum's list?

Can you point to the question mark?

Can you collect some objects in a bag.

Can someone sound out the object.

For example a brush would be b-r-u-sh or a cup would be c-u-p. Can you clap the sounds as you say them.

Now swap so you are the one saying the sounds.

To extend this activity you could write down the sound as someone is saying them out loud.

Can you try this recipe? If you don't have these fruits you can use whatever you have at home.

This week we are going to be learning about halving.

Halving is when we separate something into two equal parts.  For example some things can be split into two halves or if you have 2 objects when we halve them we end up with two groups of 1.

Today we would like you to find 5 things from around the house that can be halved.  Once you have found them take a picture and send it to us!

Here are some photos that may help…

  • Remember to flash all your letter sounds and high frequency words! Have a go at writing any that you aren't sure about.
  • This week we are going to be learning about who lives in the water! Talk to your grown up about what lives in the water!
  • Today we would like you to watch this story...'Commotion in the Ocean' and then have a look at the pictures below.
  • Choose one of the sea creatures to draw in your book and then once you have finished your picture write some fascinating facts about that creature.

Remember to send us a photo of your work!

Commotion In The Ocean by Giles Andreae

Use this to remind yourself of the sea creatures. Which one will you choose to write about?

Daily Challenge

Using books you have in your home or by searching on the internet with a grown up, what can you find out about sea creatures?

You could try finding out about the following...

  • Where do they live?
  • What do they eat?
  • How do they swim?
  • Can they survive out of the water?

Can you make a sea creatures fact book?
