Tilly stepped out into the yard; her feet could feel the frost on the path as she tiptoed back to the house.  She climbed the stairs to her bedroom and went to close her window.  Looking out, she could see the light from her dad’s torch in the shed flashing all over the place.  There was obviously something seriously wrong with the machine.
