Good morning Ganymede,
I hope you have all had a great weekend. I have been isolating so it's been lots of little home projects to keep me busy. Well today is the first day that all of our class will be doing their learning online. We are in this together so let's get going. Strap yourselves in we are in for a busy week.....

For today's learning we are staying with multiplying by 4's but now we are going to try and see if multiplying by 8's as well will help our learning.
Follow the slides for your learning.
Write a new title in your Home Learning Journal to separate your learning tasks.
This term we will be learning about Persuasive writing by composing our own letters to convince our local MP to reduce, reuse and recycle more in Trowbridge to help fight global warming.
Cold writing task
At the start of a new unit we begin by having a go at a piece of independent writing. Today I would like you to use the pictures below to write your own letter to me. You need to persuade me to choose your favourite fast food restaurant to order my lunch from. Tell me why it's your favourite and why I should choose it today. Remember letters often include: Dear to start with, followed by the person's name. A paragraph explaining why I should choose the restaurant, draw from your own experience. Finish off with your name.
Things to think about:
How will you structure your letter - use an example from your family.
Why choose your restaurant?
Give examples why it is better?
What do you recommend?
Sign off with your name.
Show it to your family?
Remember every piece of writing should:
include a variety of sentence structures
be accurately punctuated
be structured in paragraphs
use different conjunctions to join your sentences
show attention to accurate spelling
neatly presented in a continuous cursive style
When you have finished writing your letter remember to read it back and check it carefully - I like to read it aloud to make sure I am happy with how it sounds.
Reread chapter two.
Find and copy ONE word which means the same as:
This week we are going to learn the /oe/ sound
