To begin today's learning complete the Fluent in Five activity below in your Home Learning Journal - remember to set yourself a 5 minute time limit just like we would in class:

We have reached the end of our unit on converting measures so your task today is to have a go at the mind workout task below.  These tasks are deliberately challenging as they encourage you to use your mathematical thinking in order to solve problems.  Show all your thinking in your Home Learning Journal.



Tomorrow we will be beginning a new unit on area and perimeter so take a look at the  following Video lesson to begin thinking about this new area of learning -



Choose one of the story openings below and let your imagination run wild as you create your own story.  Before you begin writing take some time to think about your ideas you may want to create a boxed up plan or draw a story map to help you organise your thinking.

Read the next 4 pages of Edge of Extinction - in these pages we are introduced to a new character.  As you are reading look for clues as to how the characters feel about each other.  Once you have finished reading the pages answer the question below in your Home Learning Journal.

This week we will be recapping on some of the vocabulary we have learnt about in our grammar lessons in class.  This is an ongoing puzzle over the week - each day you will need to read the sentence given and identify the grammatical feature underlined.  Then rearrange the mixed up letters to name the feature in the boxes.  Keep a note of the numbered letter you will need this on Friday.

When we studied the Ancient Greeks we learnt about different forms of government: Monarchy, Democracy, Oligarchy, Tyranny and Aristocracy


Your task today is to create a poster that shows what these forms of government were like.  I would like you to include pictures as well as the key features of each type of government.  Watch the following you tube clip if you need some help remembering each type of government:
