Maths

Write a newspaper report based on our picture for this week, you should focus on the dinosaur's rampage through the city and his pursuit of Tim. 

Challenge: Include quotations from Tim and/or a witness, bonus points if your quotations show how the person speaks - this could be through using more informal language than throughout the rest of your article or giving them an accent.

Reading

Today's task is for you to assess my review, you might wish to compare it to the template I've added to the same page to see what I have and haven't included. Answer the questions below in your journals:

  1. Does this review make you want to read the story? Why/why not?
  2. Have you learnt anything about any of the characters in the story from my review? Use a quotation to show what you have learnt
  3. What genre do you think this story belongs to based on the review and book cover?
  4. How do you think I felt about the story?
  5. Find and copy 3 conjunctions used in my review
  6. Could I improve my review? How?

 

You should all still be reading regularly while you are learning at home. Start to think about the books you are reading at the moment or a book you have finished recently that could be the focus of your book review. At the end of next week I will be asking you to start sending in your reviews to me, make sure you're reading so that you can complete that task. The books you review don't have to be long ones.
