Good morning Luna Class! It's Friday.

We have been so impressed with all the photo's you have been emailing. Make sure you have a look at what your friends have been up to.

PE

The ‘Getting Dressed’ Challenge : You will need 5 t-shirts or 5 hats or 5 scarves. You could try this on your own, but it would be even more fun to try this activity as a race.

*Lay the items of clothing around the house or garden

*’On your marks, get set, go!’ Move to each item & put it on

*When you have put the 5th t-shirt, hat or scarf on stop the clock. How did you do? Take a photo and send it to us.

Other ideas :

*Ask a family member to stand at one end of the room/garden

*Put your hats & scarves in a pile as far away from them as you can.

*’On you marks, get set, go!’ Pick up one item & take it to your family member. Put it or tie it on them.

*Go back & collect another item. Repeat until there are no items left. Stop the clock.

*Could you race against other family members?

Maths

Today we would like you to have a go at the questions on the doubling sheet below...

Once you have finished - can you think of any other doubles? Tell your grown up which doubles you know!

Writing

  • Ask a grown up to flash all the letter cards and get you to say the sounds.
  • Ask a grown up to flash all the high frequency word cards and get you to say the word you see.

  • Today we are going to practise our handwriting again! Let’s start by warming up our fingers…can you touch each fingertip using your thumb tip? Work your way along your fingers and back again. Next let’s scrunch our fingers into a fist and then stretch them open wide.  Repeat this five times.

  • Today we would like you to practise forming all the letters that are in the tunnel family …see below.  Fill a line with each letter and try really hard to make them all the same size and sit on the line! Have fun!

Daily Challenge

  • Today we are going to see how many small objects or plastic toys will fit on your boat before it sinks!
  • Estimate how many you think will fit…then place one object on at a time and see how many fit before it sinks!
  • Record the number in your book.
  • Try experimenting with different types of objects...which can you fit the most / least of in your boat before it sinks?
