Expectation

Welcome To

Studley Green Primary School

Our school is a unique, happy and special place. Within the heart of the community, it is where children feel safe, loved and supported as they grow and develop into confident and successful individuals. We believe that an outstanding education is the single most important factor in ensuring success in life and we are relentless in the pursuit of this. We expect the highest level of engagement from all who share in our vision of 'beyond expectation'.

Which character did you like the most? Explain why.

English

The storm had been raging for hours. Like a besieging army tormenting an enemy’s ramparts, the waves battered on the lighthouse walls.

A group of men huddled in one of the cylindrical-shaped rooms, flinching every time a wave rocked the lighthouse. Their hearts were in their mouths with every devastating blow: they half expected the walls to come tumbling down at any moment.

They turned their heads and listened to the sound of the storm. What they heard was truly terrifying…

Art Galleries

What are they?
Art Galleries are spaces for showing works of art. They are often exciting places to visit. You find them all over the world in some of the greatest cities in the world. Some galleries are small others very large but they are all fun to visit as you never know what you might find there.

At the moment it is not possible to visit Art Galleries because lots of places are in lock down and are closed. However it is possible to visit them on line. And it is so great to see what is going on in other places in the world.
You can look at pictures and some galleries have activities for you to do at home.

Art sites which are great for exploring and making…...

Tate Kids
There are some great activities on this site for you to try at home. I like the look of the paper marbling activity using shaving foam! On this site you can also find out about lots of very cool artists. I was really interested in finding out about Chila Kumari Burman who makes art using ice cream cones. There are virtual tours and lots of quizzes.
