At Studley Green Primary School we recognise the lifelong impact of sport, as well as a healthy diet, to the future well-being of children. This is supported by government and independent research which conclude that an innovative and varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of pupils.
The Government is providing £150 million funding annually from 2013 until 2016 to increase the amount schools spend on PE and sport. It will provide the school with ring fenced money to spend on improving the quality of PE and sports provision. Each school is allocated £8000 plus and extra £5 per child - at Studley that will mean we receive £8440 this year.
If you are interested to see how this money has been used and the impact it has had please read the documents below. The report for this year is a working document and will be updated frequently throughout the year.
